2. The Font
The 8-sided font is near the door.
The stone Font is medieval in age, and octagonal (8-sided) in shape. The base is probably much older than the font itself. It may have come from a much older church which stood here.
Babies have been baptised in Mulbarton for over a thousand years (there was a church here in the time of the Domesday Book, in 1086). Today, babies are baptised on Sundays, at a 10am service. In the baptism service, the parents and Godparents say:
"I turn to Christ.
I repent of my sins.
I renounce evil.
I believe and trust in Him."
Return to 1. Inside the Church.           Proceed to 3. The Nave.
